background dude, where are thou?

and ... I know I don't really maintain my blog, but ... when did I lose the background image?  Grump.

Update:
I see.  The picture of the background dude was hosted at my comcast site, which I pay even LESS attention to than this blog. Didn't stand a chance....

Graphs!

I really should start posting again.

Look at this interesting graph of "Interest over time" for the terms:

+ Telemark
+ Alpine Touring
+ Backcountry

Maybe I should use the blog as a place to publicly declare my 2016 Resolutions! Avoiding the shame of publicly failing has always been a strong motivator for me.  But I'm not sure it should be ... so maybe I won't post them.

Oh well - for now it's always fun to look back on the year of music, and make a top-10 list:

And here's my latest viz I posted Tableau Public, looking at reported Bicycle Collision Data for the Seattle area.

Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Mardis Gras season is here, so it's time to put a fork in this and share it with the world.

Here's a Viz built from 2 years of playlist data from WWOZ, the Greatest Station in the Universe!

My take-aways:

+ WWOZ plays lots of great music.

+ I'm going to try to Listen on Thursdays from 11-12, to hear more bands like the HOT 8 BRASS BAND, who I'm digging right now.

Enjoy!

Trying to keep up with Louise

So, Louise has a blog now (her third, I think), and a Pinterest page, so she has shamed me in to updating out family blog.  I guess 1-year between posts is long enough.

Life is good.

It's Sunday morning.  Lisa is playing the Piano right now, trying out the Re-Introduction Etudes by Chilly Gonzales.

Our Kitchen is remodeled.

I enjoy helping Louise with her homework, especially when I can create a data visualization in Tableau for it!

And Speaking of work, I saw this Trogdor scrawled on a white board, which just about made my week.

And ... hopefully it won't be over a year before my next post.  'Til then - thanks for visiting!
